Before the "regular" season begins, the "Elbphilharmonie Summer " will bring a variety of music to the city for 13 concerts, including Eldbjørg Hemsing and the Arctic Philharmonic on August 20th, featuring a program that pays tribute to the unique beauty of the Arctic Circle.
"It’s very easy to think about the Arctic as a rugged, uninhabitable place, but in fact it is a region of stunning beauty that is full of life and shows how everything is connected in fragile cycles. With this project I wanted to create a lush, majestic soundscape that pays tribute to the beauty of it all, and raise awareness for the urgent threats posed by climate change."
The program will feature Nordic classics by Edvard Grieg and Jean Sibelius, along with new film music and lighting effects, transforming the concert into a true short trip to the polar world.
Ticket sales will begin on March 27, 2025. Click here to purchase your tickets.
